I thought I was ready for shock, anger, disappointment and fear

Gutinue! (Jeeze Louise!) WTF What is going on? Last week, here, in the good ol’ U. S. of A., the Republican National Convention officially nominated the ill-equipped, narcissistic, racist, sexist, violence provoking, psychopathic, tax evading, reality TV star Donald Trump and his poisonous partner in conservatism and hate, Mike Pence. Please forgive me if I may have left off an adjective, or ten. Gonifs (thieves, dishonest people), the two of them are.

Donny and Mike do not think (I could end the sentence perfectly well here):

  • That the Mrs. and I should be married (How do I tell that to Big and Little?)
  • That #BlackLivesMatter
  • That borders should be open for Muslims, and that every Muslim here, needs to go
  • That Mexicans should live in our country, so we need to build a great big wall
  • That any country should send us their tired, their poor, their hungry, especially if there is a history of terrorism
  • That anyone with a uterus should have a choice over their own body
  • That guns are a problem
  • That climate change exists
  • That debt can be fixed with the Art of the Deal

Mr. Trump, he ended his goliath gathering with throngs chanting, “lock her up” and “build the wall.” Nice. I’m certain their mothers are all very pleased. This Yiddisher Momma is having all sorts of ‘Hitleresque’ feelings and will steer clear of any showers built or ‘camps’ created in the terrifying event of a Trump win.

Today, Hillary and Tim are here, in my city, for their big soiree, the Democratic National Convention. Admittedly, she is flawed. Server-gate was not a good move, and I can get past that. Email-gate? Trump will no doubt thank the Russians and his pal Putin for this latest wiki-leak.

The main reason people HATE (yes hate) Hillary, is blatant sexism. She is held to a standard that those who stand up to pee are not. While by no means perfect (as if such a thing exists), she is smart, aggressive, influential and well equipped to seek the highest ‘glass-ceiling shattering’ power office in this country. If a man with her same qualifications, experiences and credentials were running for the very oval office she is running for, they would have been applauded from sea to shining sea. Even by Bernie.

And for those of you who are still feeling the Bern, whether he is an atheist or a Jew, GET THE FUCK OVER IT! He didn’t make it. There was no great big conspiracy.

Nu? So you’re united in your unhappiness about whose left?

To quote Ted Cruz, “Vote your conscience.” Vey iz mere (holy shit!), I just quoted a very hateful man as he spoke live from the RNC floor. And he is right. On the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November, get the hell up and VOTE. Hold your nose, stuff a sock in your mouth if you have to, but vote you must.

And if you don’t vote, voo den (what the fuck heck) do you expect to happen? Madness. Chaos. Anarchy. And a power-hungry man with his finger on ‘the red button.’

If you don’t get out and vote, than we all will be no better than vi a fortz in rossel (a fart in a barrel).

VOTE please. I was with her in the primary. And #ImWithHer now. #ImWithHer

  2. I sure thought that I commented already, but I don’t see it here. Though, now it may be a duplicate, that is OK. I Love this post, it brought tears to my eyes. With your permission I would like to schedule to share this over the weekend for my Weekly Faves. This is so much of what has been on my mind and in my heart. You and the Mrs. of course deserve to be married!! I hope that you have a wonderful day, xoxox. And seriously, I wish that words could adequately describe my emotions over this post.

    1. You just made my day! I would be honored for you to share this amongst your readers. We need to get the word out. As you can see, I’m scared.
I am also thrilled the words that I felt a compelling need to type moved you.
      Xoxoxo
      😘 thank you! #mg

  3. It is sad that, as closely as I have been watching every step of this train-wreck unfold, I still have to scream once in a while, “How did this happen?” Ultimately, it’s not a question seeking an answer, because I know the answers. It is, like your post I think, just a venting of my increasingly unmanageable anger that we have really opened Pandora’s box of the racial hatred and love of violence that this nation has always sat upon without being willing to recognize.

  4. Yes Hillary all the way – she has to be elected! After the shit storm here in the UK and leaving the E.U (not sure I’ll get over it) we now have a female leader -Theresa May as PM. It’s time for the women to have a go at sorting everything out. #fartglitter

  5. After all the recent craziness in the UK i hope the people of the US dont make the same mistake we did. At some point sense must pervail, I am watching with interest from the other side of the pond but completely with you – and I think its time we had the women in charge #fartglitter

  6. I simply cannot believe two such individuals are ACTUALLY in the running to run a country. We had our political issues back last year when Canadians banned together to oust a hateful-crooked-judgmental A-hole out of office and now to watch the news and see true Americans having their own battle with someone 10x worse (and not the greatest other options) I have insane sympathies for you. I hope and pray that things turn out well, I can’t even imagine the other outcome.

  7. It is so so scary thinking about that man in power. He is a really nasty piece of work. There are no unflawed politicians but he is by far the worst that I can think of! Thanks for joining us at the #bigpinklink

    1. Well save some room for my adorable family in your country, should we need it. We’ve underestimated him every step of the way. It’s no joke. Oy vey. Thanks for your support! 😪

  9. I have a lot problems with Hillary that aren’t related to her sex, I’d love to be able to show my daughter a strong, female, President. At the end of the day though, there is no way that I can ever fathom voting for the buffoon that is Donald Trump. #momsterlink

  10. From watching the goings on over here in the UK I am horrified and stunned that a man with his views managed to be elected as the Republican candidate for president. It seems like everything’s gone mad. We have some dodgy politicians here but nothing on this scale!

  11. I am another reader of yours that watches from another part of the world as this unfolds. I am shocked that Trump has gotten this far, how could I not be? It is ridiculous. I get that people are fed up with bad politicians, but to vote in Trump is dangerous to everyone. Great post! #mg

  13. Oh they’re awful & so frightening. I don’t like any of your Republicans (or even our (usually) milder Tories), but Trump is a new level. The most ridiculous thing, of course, is that, quite apart from being a reprehensible human being, he is not remotely qualified & is completely incompetent. I entirely agree about Hillary – she would not be hated or criticised so much if she was male. I don’t love her, I have to admit. Certainly I don’t like her like I like Obama. But she is a competent, intelligent, qualified woman, & she will do a reasonable job: as good, if not better, than most presidents before her have done. #fartglitter

      1. The alternative is absolutely terrifying! What we have done over here of late is very, very worrying, but pales in comparison to that man being in charge of the US.

Thanks so much for joining us on #FridayFrolics. Hope to see you next time

      2. I’m thrilled to have found #FridayFrolics and all of you! Watching the the UK and the EU was like the lead in for the awful convention for Trump. I wonder what is wrong with people. And I’m a bit scared of the outcome. Oy…

  14. I really HATE the “vote for the lesser evil” mind set, but now it’s more true than ever. Hillary might not make the best president but sweet baby Jesus, look at the other evil. I’m still mind blown that gong show is even an candidate! It was funny when he announced he’s running because he’s such a joke. The joke’s over. It’s not funny any more.

      1. The late night show hosts may get 4 years of self written material. God, I hope not though! Perhaps I’ll be sending in for an absentee ballot? I hear Cape Breton Island is a beautiful place. ‘Mon up!

  15. You sound like I felt when I woke up and learned my country had voted to leave the European Union. I just don’t know what is happening to the world right now. I hope for your country what I wish had happened in the UK, that educated and informed people turn out to vote, but that the mad mob who aren’t thinking things through get distracted and don’t make it to the polling station in time. #Stayclassymama

    1. I can imagine it felt like that. Over on this side of the pond we were equally as shocked and I look at it as the lead in for that awful Trumpster and his campaign of hate. Thanks for reading and commenting and being one very #stayclassymama

  16. Watching all this unfold on the media as an outsider in the UK it saddens me that they are the only two candidates that the American people have. It’s basically “who is the lesser of two evils” I hope that people choose to vote hillary because really, trump? Trump in power?! When he was in a Scotland a comedian started to hand out specially made golf balls with the nazi symbol on them at his speech at a golf course…. it’s just crazy reading everything.

    1. I have been voting for a long time, and I have never felt such an overwhelming feeling of doom with the rise of Trump? How can this be. It is depressing to know that this many of my fellow citizens are racist, sexist, anti-gay, anti muslim and pro gun. Getting too scary. Thanks for reading and commenting… you are one #stayclassymama for sure!

  18. Does trump think this is a reality tv show ? I’ve heard a few ppl say this week that he never intended things to get this far . Such a scary situation , I hope people get out and vote , we have seen consequences of that not happening in Uk #stayclassy

    1. I’m even more scared that he will drop out now. Then the evil party can put in a real politician that is ultra conservative and undo my family among other things. #imwithher because that’s the only solution here. #stayclassymama. And the whole Brexit thing has us befuddled too!!!

  19. Will a lot of people not turn out for the vote? We have this problem in the UK – its crazy the amount of people that don’t bother it makes me really angry! TRUMP is a real scary possibility, he’s a genius at propaganda and creating fear. I’m not sure Hillary is a much better option – but perhaps the lesser of two evils? #stayclassymama

  20. I never talk about politics or religion. But I see some of your points here. Truth is I feel like most Americans…that somehow, out of all the people, our choices are down to these two people. I do believe that Trump is a ticking time bomb but Hilary is a liar. It’s going to be an interesting November. Thanks for linking with #momsterslink!

  21. I am scared of what might happen if Trump gets in. He’s been proven to be a liar. His wife plagiarised almost a whole speech from Michelle O. And yet his supporters seem from the polls, to be better educated than the average American…how has this happened???

But I equally find it hilarious that Trump means fart here in the UK 🙂

  22. Preach it, lady! This is insanity at its best. I can tell you that people here, in Europe are absolutely petrified what will happen if this man winds up in office. Is there something in the water, or what??
