Me? The Mystery Blogger Award

Yes! Let me start off, nachas (unbridled joy) aside, with the BIGGEST THANK YOU to my friend Ann at Grubbs and Critters for passing on the torch of the Mystery Blogger Award.

Okoto Enigma, creator of this beautiful honor writes, “Mystery Blogger Award”is an award for amazing bloggers with ingenious posts.  Their blog not only captivates; it inspires and motivates.  They are one of the best out there and they deserve every recognition they get.  This award is also for bloggers who find fun and inspiration in blogging and they do it with so much love and passion.

If you think I’m anything short of farklempt (all choked up over this), gutinue (oh my), you know me well!

  1. Proudly display the award image on your blog — I’m kvelling (literally, I’m bursting with pride!)
  2. List the rules (in process now)
  3. Thank Ann at Grubbs and Critters (whoever) for nominating me (you) and provide a link to their blog. Ann, you ROCK!
  4. Mention Okoto Enigmathe ingenious creator of this award and provide a link too
  5. Tell your readers 3 things about yourself — no tsuris (trouble) here, I’m a blogger!
  6. You have to nominate (10 – 20, or 300) bloggers — a simcha! (cause to rejoice!)
  7. Notify your nominees by commenting on their blog — me, interact and comment! 🙂
  8. Ask your nominees any 5 questions of your choice; with one weird or funny question (specify)
  9. Share a link to your best post(s)

3 things about me?

  • I try very hard to live my life with empathy and humor — they need to go together, or life delivers too much shpilkes (that feeling of pins and needles and you may puke a bit…)
  • I absolutely, positively love Yiddish and want to keep this robust language alive! I’m Jewish by birth, but I practice Tai Chi…nu (so)?
  • I love to laugh. And sometimes, sometimes, I laugh so hard that I pisheh meyn hoisen (pee my pants), just a little. What? You wanted me to share?

My favorite posts
I have a few posts I like a bissel (little). Here, let me share with you all: I AM WOMAN HEAR ME ROAR, The Vulnerability that is TimeThe Rule of Kind, and Let Them Play!

And the next set of nominations proudly go to:
So many people in this blogosphere that I admire, look up to, read. This one’s for all of you (in no particular order). If it’s not your thing, that is okay. Just know how much you mean to me in your words, your wisdom and your ability to make me laugh and/or cry:

My 5 questions to answer:

  • What the weirdest thing you have experienced in the last 3 months? the 2016 US Presidential Election – an old Yiddish proverb says, “If he were twice as smart, he’d be an idiot!” I agree.
  • What’s your favourite children’s book? Zen Shorts, I read it often, and without the kids…it’s that good
  • Would you rather live under the sea or on the moon? Moon, because I like moon pies (aka scooterpies)
  • You discovered that the child you brought home a year ago was not your own as a result of a mix-up. What would you do? Continue to love he/she out loud
  •  Euthanasia – yes or no and why? Yes, because sometimes life (end of life) sucks, and we seem to be kinder to animals

Your 5 questions for you to answer, get the grey matter going you know?:

  • What is the best mistake you ever made?
  • Rain or snow, and why?
  • What is one thing in history you would like to change?
  • What best motivates you?
  • What is your absolute, favorite all-time movie?

Thanks All!

Wishing everyone a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year! L’Chiam! To life!

  1. Well deserved, you are such a beautiful and inspirational woman, so strong and yet always keeping your humour, much love to you and yours for 2017 xx

  2. You finally got to this! Wonderful 3 things (I like the wordeparture sphikel and bissel) and answers to the questions. Yes, the Trum-pet thing was super weird. Agree on euthanasia.

Thanks for responding, Lisa! It was a good read. Happy New Year to you. Xxx.

  3. Lisa, this is a truly deserved award! Congrats to you! Look forward to reading more of your posts in 2017.
Thanks so much for all of your support with my posts as well!

If you have a minute, it would mean a lot if you could check out my “Dear 2016” composition and critique it. If you have a YouTube account, please feel free to comment on the video too –

  4. I’m letting loose a huge squeal over here (belatedly) for being nominated by you for this award! Serves me right for letting my inbox pile up (still not done) over the holidays! Thank you so much! I’m so behind on everything else blog-related from the holidays, so I’m not sure I’ll get that post of my own up anytime soon, so I’ll just answer your questions here. 🙂 But before I do, let me just say a big “woo-hoo!” for loving the book Zen Shorts! We love that one, too! 1. The best mistake I ever made was probably something really lame, like not following through with something (I usually take care of things right away…well, except for clearing out my inbox over the holidays 😉 ) and then having it turn out to not have mattered anyway, like if something falls through and if I’d done all that work right away in the first place, it would have just been an enormous waste of time. 2. Rain, but that’s mainly because it doesn’t snow here. I’ve been in snow plenty of times, but I’ve never had to live in it, so I’m sure that comes with its own set of troubles… 3. Not a very unique (I hope) answer, but it’d be nice to eliminate the Holocaust from history. I still can’t fathom how that managed to actually happen (my head understands how events led to it, but my heart doesn’t, you know?). 4. A feeling of achievement is probably my best motivation, although in college it was “stuff” (as in, adding stuff to my graduation robes, like honor societies and things). 5. Finally, an easy one (although I really love a TON of movies) – Royal Wedding is my absolute, favorite all-time movie. What’s yours?

Thanks again for nominating me, Lisa – you made my day! And thanks for letting me take over your blog comments here… 😀
