violent winds swirling
roots torn, spines fractured, broken
history in ruins
fallen, decaying
casualties of climate
in a world, denying
I speak for the trees
cadavers among the flock
modern dinosaurs
Yiddish phrase:
A young tree bends, an old tree breaks. A yung baimeleh baigt zikh, an alter brecht zich.
As we near the end of earth month, please, can I ask you, speak for the trees. Plant one, or many, for momma earth. She needs our help. Trees,Β they are like the chicken soup for the air.
Completely agree we all need to take care of Mother Earth a bit more. #ThatFridayLinky

We love our trees, and there have been a couple of big ones here on our road that have come down over the past two or three years, a huge elm and a lovely bee-buzzing chestnut tree.
We miss them and I still see them filling up their spaces in the sky when I pass their homes on my walk.

We definitely need more trees on our planet. I always feel bad for the cities because they lack trees and I find that depressing. Trees make me happy. They make me feel at peace with myself and with the world. The world needs more trees:) #LGRTStumble

So true, Lisa… Nature needs our help desperately. Trees are sustenance, and yet we keep destroying them in record numbers. Still, it gives me hope that more and more people seem to be realizing this (in spite of ‘the world, denying’) and joining in, even in little ways β like planting one, like refusing to cut down the ones in their yards β to care for the planet. Got to keep it up, though, which is why I’m glad to have found this post π
Thanks so much for the visit at Vidya’s for my guest post, and the beautiful comment you left there. Much, much appreciated. Wishing you a fabulous weekend!
